mBot Coding Box

The obstacle avoidance mode had my daughter giggling every time the little guy spun around a chair leg. I like that the coding blocks connect to real sensors instead of just dragging sprites on a screen.

My son figured out the line-following mode in about ten minutes and then spent the whole afternoon tweaking the code to make the turns smoother. The LED controls are simple enough that he's already teaching his little sister. Way more engaging than the coding apps he got bored with.

My son figured out the line following mode in one afternoon and now he keeps tweaking the code to make the turns sharper. The LEDs reacting instantly to his commands is what keeps him coming back. Way better than the screen time battles we used to have.
