[Conference] UVU’s first annual MakerCon

The hands-on maker sessions were the best part — I actually built a paper circuit and a cardboard automaton I can take straight back to my classroom. As a first-year event it ran surprisingly smoothly, and I left with a notebook full of ideas for my students.

I came in skeptical that a conference could actually change how I run my classroom, but the educator-focused sessions here did. Walking out with concrete maker projects I can drop into my curriculum next week was worth the whole day.

The hands-on making sessions were the highlight for me, especially the one where we built a classroom-ready project from scratch and left with plans to use it Monday. It's rare to find a conference built specifically for educators who want making in their classrooms rather than just hearing about it
